CarSeatLife Appointment Reminders: how text messages work

CarSeatLife connects families with certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians for car seat installations, safety checks and virtual consultations booked at carseatlife.com. CarSeatLife Appointment Reminders are optional text messages about those appointments. Texts are off until the account holder turns them on.

What you receive

When you turn reminders on, one text to confirm it.
Then one reminder about 40 minutes before each confirmed appointment: for families (Clients), each appointment you book; for technicians (Educators), each appointment booked with you.
Message frequency varies with your bookings. We send no marketing messages.

How to opt in

Opt-in happens only on the carseatlife.com website, inside a signed-in account. There is no keyword to text in.

Open Settings → Profile and enter your mobile number. Sign in at carseatlife.com, open Settings → Profile, and enter your mobile number in Phone Number.
Read the disclosure and check the box. Below the Phone Number and ZIP Code fields, the Appointment reminders via SMS checkbox is unchecked by default. Beside the checkbox the page shows, word for word:
CarSeatLife will text one reminder about 40 minutes before each confirmed appointment to the mobile number on your profile. Message frequency varies with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Settings → Profile, uncropped: the whole opt-in form on one screen, from the Phone Number field to the Save Changes button. The box is unchecked by default.
Click Save Changes. Checking the box and clicking Save Changes is the opt-in. Nothing is sent unless the box is checked and saved. The page then says:
Profile saved. Text reminders are on. If you ever replied STOP to one of our texts, reply START to that text too. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.

When you turn reminders on, we send one text to confirm:

CarSeatLife: [Jordan]'s [Car Seat Fitting (Virtual)] is at [10:00 AM] today. Video call: start it from the Tech Portal. Reply STOP to opt out.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP to any text, or uncheck the box Appointment reminders via SMS in Settings → Profile and click Save Changes.
If you replied STOP and want reminders again, reply START and make sure the box Appointment reminders via SMS is checked in Settings → Profile (if it is not, check it and click Save Changes).

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
